Ipl Twenty20 series has brought in the much needed change and excitement in the world of cricket, Kudos to Mr. Lalit Modi, vice president of BCCI for infusing it. As we gear up for the excitement and thrill from April 10 onwards till May 29 2009 – do make it a point to witness each and every match and enjoy most of the cricketing action.

Eight teams each will be playing against each other in a league on home-and-away basis. With four teams in the finals, you will have two decisive semi-finals and most exciting finish to win finals.

IPL T20 2009 has its share of highest bids too, this time it’s the English batsmen as all-rounder Andrew Flintoff and batsman Kevin Pietersen for the Chennai Super Kings and the Bangalore Royal Challengers have been bided for US $ 1.55 million. On the other hand we have Jean Paul Duminy (US$ 95,000) playing for Mumbai Indians who was bid well above his reserve price. On the other hand a lot of debate follows Mashrafe Bin Mortaza being bought by Kolkata Night Riders for an impressive US $ 600,000 – so expect him to observe by one and all.

Similarly with many new entrants this IPL season – Ravi Bopara, Paul Collingwood, Owais Shah – English players. From New Zealand we can watch Kyle Mills’s bowling and Jesse Ryders’s batting action, George Bailey from Tasmania playing for Chennai Super Kings while Mohammed Ashraful, Bangladeshi cricketer will play for Mumbai Indians to name a few. Imagine a total bid of US $ 7.65 million for all of the 17 new debutants in this IPL 2009 season. Whopping Amount!!

Still raking great prospects, the IPL game is much sought after by the rich socialites who seek a stake not only in the teams but also in the IPL limelight…Good going then…Hogging the news recently were Raj Kundra, an entrepreneur and cine actress Shilpa Shetty who have picked up a 11.7 percent stake in Rajasthan Royals – the winners of 2008 IPL season.
